Lavender Lemonade

A gourmet twist on good ol’ fashioned lemonade, this drink has such a complex and aromatic flavor! Now my favorite summertime drink…or for a rainy winter day…or whenever.

  • 5 cups water
  • 1 tbs dried lavender
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup white sugar (I used evaporated cane juice)

Bring 2 1/2 cups of the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. When it boils, turn off the heat and add the lavender to the boiling water. Cover the pan and let stand — for as short as 30 minutes up to several hours. In a pitcher, combine the rest of the water (cold), sugar, and lemon juice. Strain out the lavender buds from the hot water and add the lavender-infused water to the pitcher. The type of dried lavender you use determines the color change. Pour over ice in a glass and enjoy!
